HISTORY

Our Story
Parkridge Church is built on a legacy of faith, vision, and obedience to God's call.
That legacy begins with Pastor Bill Billingsley, the founding pastor of Sheridan Hills Baptist Church in Hollywood, FL. From 1963 until his passing in 1998, Pastor Bill faithfully led Sheridan Hills with a heart for church planting and a passion for reaching new communities with the gospel. His leadership and vision played a key role in launching what would eventually become Parkridge Church. In fact, more than 50 churches in our region have ties back to Sheridan Hills—testament to a movement of multiplication that continues today.
In 1992, sensing God’s leading to start a new church in the growing Coral Springs and Parkland area, Sheridan Hills sent out Pastor Eddie Bevill to plant this new work. The first services were held at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School under the name First Baptist Church of Parkland.
As the church grew, God opened the door to a permanent location—on land that bordered both Parkland and Coral Springs. With a new home came a new name: Parkridge Church. In 1996, construction began on our current campus in Coral Springs, where we continue to gather, grow, and go with the gospel.
Today, Parkridge still carries Pastor Bill’s vision forward: to reach people, build lives, and plant churches—all for the glory of God.
