Campbell Group on Mission
Written by Jonathan Campbell
Our group started in April of 2019 meeting on Sunday evenings in homes to make it easier for those who had Sunday morning commitments or those who preferred to meet at a different time. Our desire was to build community similar to how the early church did in Acts 2:42-47. Until Covid happened, we would share a meal together, share what is happening in our lives, pray and then get into the Word. Due to Covid, we have taken a break from eating meals together and meeting in homes but the rest remains. There are (2) things that we do every meeting: Answer the question: How have you seen God this past week?
Pray for an unreached people group (via the Unreachedoftheday App by the Joshua Project).
These two things make sure that we are looking for God moment by moment and also thinking and praying for the ends of the Earth. It is a blessing to hear what God is doing in others lives and to be able to impact another people group through prayer that we never heard of (or be able to pronounce their name!) that is on the other side of the world. When we were approached earlier this year to pick an outreach or mission to support, our group couldn’t pick one, so we chose two. We are partnering with Cross United Church in Lighthouse Point (Pastor Danny and his wife Laura) and the missions team in France (Eric and Lucy’s team). With Cross United, the group was able to start fundraising for Cross United’s book drive to support the local elementary school. Through these efforts we were able to raise $1000 to give to the book drive. We are looking forward to being able to support them pack books and get them ready for the kids before summer. We are just starting to see what God is going to lead us to do with the team in France are excited about the possibilities. We meet in the Green room in building 3 from 6:30pm -8pm on Sundays. Would you join us as we build community and look to impact others for the cause of Christ?
